Northern Cyprus, just a couple of queries?

Flying to Larnaca then crossing over the border to North Cyprus on route to Kyrenia. I understand the currency there is Turkish lira, and some places will take sterling as we will be landing in southern Cyprus am I right in thinking I will need euros if I need to buy anything there?
